Behind The Scenes: VALKYRIE’S FIRE - Warrior Of The Night (Official Video)

Dave Hale (bass guitar): Warrior of the Night is the first single from the album ASCENSION by Valkyrie’s Fire, and it is a special song to each of us because of the meaning behind the lyrics. This song is dedicated to the fans who tirelessly support musicians each and every night, and to the musicians around the world who endlessly pour their heart and soul into the music they create. Just like any true warrior, the musicians fight the ongoing battle to bring exposure to their music, and the fans also fight the battle by showing their support for those musicians. The album, and this song, are steeped in Norse mythology, and as such, the lyrics also hint at that, while keeping their relevance to the fans and musicians. Each of us fights a battle in the field of music, and each of us must remain strong and give our all for those things we fight so valiantly for. The video begins with the image of Thor’s hammer as it sits on top of a damaged tree stump, ironically showing the damage the hammer would cause as if it dropped from the sky. It’s a very cool image, and we were very lucky to have found that damaged tree stump when we arrived on location at the property for day 3 - the last day of the video shoot. The skies were dark and overcast, and really worked very well into the theme of the video as well.
