In this new interview, we sat down with the American Death Metal band Gwazi to ask questions about their album, "Goatfur".

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

It's our heaviest release to date by far. Our earlier albums were heavy but more rock. Our last EP was basically thrash metal and this one is full-on death metal.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

Nothing really. "Goatfur" is just a character that the album is loosely based on, but the songs explore many topics including recent world events, society, death & violence, the purpose of life, etc.

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

Brandon wrote five tracks, JT wrote one and we co-wrote five tracks together.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

Hard to pick just one. We believe "Rise of the Demon Seed," "Goatfur's Command," and "Existential Crisis" are strong tracks. "Music To Dump Bodies To" is pretty cool as well.

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?

There are special messages all throughout. It's up to each listener to decide what they are.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

"Death Jab. Your life for a..." Did you fall for the scam?

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

No one in particular. But the album was musically influenced by our love and appreciation for death metal music and our desire to explore writing and recording songs in that genre.
