Interviews About Albums: Infrared - Manifestation (2024)

In this new interview, we sat down with the Canadian Thrash Metal band Infrared to ask questions about their album, "Manifestation".

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

This new album is composed of 12 new songs. The songs have more variety than previous albums and are much shorter in length as we are trying to give a wider range of divergence in our music catalog. The album still has that 80s old-school vibe as that's the music that still inspires us and it's the music we love.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

The album title Manifestation came about when we decided to write an album in reverse and start with the artwork and then let that inform and manifest the songs that would make up the album. It ended up being about today's state of society that we all experience. Unfortunately, the world has manifested into malevolent feelings and actions developing concepts of evil and wickedness.

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

Infrared as a band composed this album together.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

Concuss is a song we feel instantly represents Infrared's style and we feel it will be a crowd favorite to sing along with and participate with the band.

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?

The message of Manifestation is the theme of the world's state and is conveyed through an old-school thrash that will never die.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

"Vermin Hail you
The rabid chosen few"
--From the song Temple of Sin

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

As mentioned above the song's lyrics were inspired by the state of the world in these times and our music of course is inspired by all our 80s heroes like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and the Big Four of course.

8. Something to add?

We would like to thank our Manager/Friend Troy Smith for all his time and hard work lugging our equipment around and showing us photos from his phone.
