Interviews About Albums: Ribo - Química (2024)

In this new interview, we sat down with the Chilean Rock band Ribo to ask questions about their album, "Quimica".

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

I sincerely believe that it is the best album in our history I think it perfectly represents who we are. It is based on an intense melody integrated with moments of calm and others of deep energy. That duality has always defined us. You can go from the lightest moment to the heaviest state. It is definitely a very emotional album.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

It's about the connection with someone, an extremely real connection. Fall into tune with real feelings, so strong that sometimes you can't escape. That connection is often not understood, it simply is, it is there, you connect and you cannot escape. That's the "Química" (chemistry)

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

I wrote the music and lyrics. Then the bassist and the drummer put their personal style to complete Ribo's identity. I also had the opportunity to record some guitars complementing the guitarist.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

It is a very difficult question because I believe that the entire album is a story, where each of the parts is important. I love all the songs on this album! Now if I had to choose one, I would choose "Laberinto". I think it has everything! 

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?

Believe in the greater essence of connection with another.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

All of them. I would love for everyone to take the time to read them. There is a special message in each one of them. It's part of a story, as I told you.

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

Musically I think it's the best thing we've done. It is a very sincere album. real and misunderstood love and feelings.
