Behind The Artworks: Artefacts - The Titan Chronicles pt. II: Lucius (2024)

I (Niklaas, vocals) have been a fan of Kuldar Leement’s works ever since I saw his art on Deviantart. I’m a big sci-fi fan and this is kind of his bread and butter. At some point I saw a fantasy picture of his and I suggested to Siegfried (composer) that we contact him and ask him if he would like to bring our story to life. He was game and we sent him a rough draft of the framework narrative for the album. He chose to depict the confrontation between the story’s protagonist, Lucius (after whom the album is named), and the titan Cylus (hence ‘The Titan Chronicles’). The rest of the canvas represents the temple in which the titan was kept for thousands of years and it’s because Leement chose to go with shades of blue, we will probably refer to this record as ‘the blue album’ (the next one, part I, will be red, but don’t tell anyone yet)
