Behind The Artworks: Marche Funèbre - After The Storm (2024)

Arne Vandenhoeck - Vocals: As with all our previous full length albums we chose an existing piece of art by American digital photography artist Brooke Shaden (https://brookeshaden.com/). We have a very smooth relationship with her actually. When we finally decided on the title of the album, we started checking her works with ‘After the Storm’ in mind. Eventually we chose something from her portfolio, but she didn’t have the original files anymore, and our search continued until we stumbled upon the work we used. We were drawn to it by the fantastic colors of the landscape, and I especially like the symbolism of the extra pair of hands blinding the woman. For me it symbolizes the situation of my break-up, where at some point you can’t see clear no more, to say the least.
