Behind The Scenes: Joyce – Hum Hotline (Official Video)

Hum Hotline began as a collaboration between myself and Bristol multi genre producer RWB. After RWB recorded the atmospheric synths, I recorded guitars and drums with Thom at his studio in Wolverhampton. I knew the song was going to close the album, so lyrically I wanted it to reflect on the themes of earlier songs, and finish the album with a rush of euphoria. I always imagined different voices on this song, so I asked Gwen from Adwaith and Joe from Big Special if they wanted to collaborate by writing their own lyrics and vocal melodies. I filmed the video on the beach in Pembrey, which is only a few miles from my house. Over the course of a week I headed to the beach for sunset and caught as much footage as I could before people started to think I’d gone crazy. Because the song has a lot of emotion and frantic energy, I thought a slow and calm collection of shots would compliment it perfectly.
