Behind The Tracks: Beyond A.C. - For Better, For Worse (Single) (2024)

”For Better, For Worse” started a long time ago. It spawned from two different origins.

First came the song title that our drummer Jorma came up with, and a Stones-y guitar riff of mine that used to be the chorus in the original FBFW. Now it’s the first guitar solo part.

Then there was another riff we used to jam (again, a long time ago). I always thought there was a song in there somewhere, and now there is. I’m talking about the AC/DC-like intro riff.

Jake the bass player had a neat chord progression that worked really well as a verse. I came up with the chorus part when noodling with a Megadeth riff, oddly enough.

Kristian, our singer wrote the melodies and lyrics apart from a couple of lines I threw in. (I doubt ”Cash Cash” will ever find out they’re mentioned here.) To me, the song is like a whirlwind love story, lyrically. Come to think of it, musically as well.

Our lead guitarist Janne thew in a brilliant hard rock solo, and then we asked a Swedish session pianist to do his thing in the spirit of Little Richard.

What can I say? It’s only rock’n’roll. We like it.
