Fae (lead vocalist): Writing the lyrics for Done Pleasing was a way for me to talk about the frustration and powerlessness I felt in my daily life.

So here's a little background story: I worked in a facility for people with a disability where a lot of aggression occurred due to the helplessness of those people and their need to be seen and heard. I tried to understand what message they were trying to bring across and did my best to make their days as comfortable and good as possible.

At the same time, I could never find peace and quiet in my personal life which I kind of needed due to the mental and physical demands of the job. This was all caused by the toxic relationship I was in. Luckily those dark days are behind me now but I still wanted to write about that feeling and somehow tell my story.

The themes in these lyrics are quite simple and I dare say straight forward, it's about having enough of not being heard or not being seen, while you do everything within your power to make other people their life as good as possible.. Having enough of the feeling of powerlessness about the situation you are in 'cause you simply know (even if you try to deny it for yourself) that it'll never change...

I think the lyrics fit the music really well 'cause of the passive aggressiveness in it. You are at a point in your life where you know the situation has to change and it's not okay what you are going through but you're not quite there yet to put yourself first and make the changes happen.

I secretly hope that lyrics do speak to some people just so they know they are not alone and hopefully find the strength to make changes happen when they finally put themselves first.
