Interviews: Abandon Alien

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock/Grunge band Abandon Alien from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

The name is originally inspired by the velvet revolver song Loving The Alien and the chorus repeating the phrase And I'm moving on. Walking away from my previous band and feeling like I didn't belong anywhere like an alien I wanted to abandon the mindset and find a sense of belonging

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I love the early 90's grunge sound it moves me like no other form of music and there is a sense of versatility in the genre where we can swing all sides of the pendulum and be as heavy or light sonically and still be true to the roots and inspiration we wear on our sleeve

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We did not know each other before joining the band

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Dan's favorite band is U2, Kim tends to enjoy the nu metal acts like Korn, and Chris leans more toward modern metal like Asking Alexandria

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Being inspired to write comes from anywhere mostly personal situations but it may also come from simply walking down the street by yourself or even listening to songs hearing a great song inspires you to try to get your own voice out

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last show was at The Centre Theatre in El Reno, OK

7. Where would you like to act?

We want to go anywhere willing to take us

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We are open to any intriguing opportunities that may come our way

9. Whom not?

We do not have a hard no for any chance to expand our band however we can

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Yes, absolutely every single time I get on stage. The best way to overcome this is to keep powering through and don't let fear take your voice away

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

Bands like Pearl Jam, Cold, Bush, Alice In Chains, Korn, Soundgarden, Silverchair, Basement, Superheaven, and so on

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We haven't gotten any weird requests but look forward to hearing them

13. What do you think of your fans?

We are honored and humbled by anyone willing to take a chance on our band and give us a listen

We think it is an incredible site and feel tremendously blessed you have opened your platform up to us
