Interviews About Albums: Gargantura - Primary Pulse (2024)
In this new interview, we sat down with the French Progressive Metal/Death Metal/Metalcore band Gargantura to ask questions about their album, "Primary Pulse".
1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?
This EP serves as the synthesis of our previous releases and the conclusion of a first life cycle for our band. It reflects our evolution and brings this initial journey to an end. More modern and melodic, it paves the way for new horizons. Primary Pulse explores different depths of internal struggles, self-discovery, and the confrontation of oppressive and illusory forces.
2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?
Primary Pulse refers to the first heartbeat of our lives, the one that sets the rhythm for our steps. It’s the primal impulse that guides each individual on their personal journey.
3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?
Everyone was involved at different stages of creating this EP. We approached each track differently. Corentin, the singer, brought in the demos, along with the lyrics and themes. From there, each member added their own touch and composed their part.
4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?
Gravity is the track that most resembles who we are right now.
5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what is it?
The message of this EP is to confront the oppressive forces that surround us, break free from the invisible chains that torment us, and find ourselves.
6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?
Not particularly; they all come from within and are all equally important to us.
7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?
Our personal experiences strongly influenced this EP, including our own struggles and reflections. Likewise, the music we listen to today blends both classic and modern elements. That said, let’s be honest—the songs come together on their own. We are grateful to every person we’ve met along our journey as a band. We’ve had the chance to meet amazing people and great bands, all of whom have contributed something to us.
8. Something to add?
I'll finish with this: "No turning back I found a way"
