In this new interview, we sat down with the French Heavy Metal project Mystic Blade to ask questions about his album, "The Master Inside".

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

This album is a dynamic journey, both musically and emotionally, exploring themes like life, death, resilience, inner struggles, and storytelling. It seamlessly blends heavy riffs, melodic complexity, and a cinematic atmosphere that makes each song come alive in a unique way. Every track stands on its own while contributing to the overall narrative of the album.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

The Master Is Inside" refers to the inner strength we all possess but sometimes struggle to find. It’s about mastering yourself, facing inner demons, and realizing that the power to overcome challenges lies within. Plus, there's a fun little twist—the 'masterpiece' is inside the music itself, so it’s a nod to the journey waiting to be discovered!

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

I composed everything on the album—every note is mine! It’s a deeply personal project where I took full control of the creative process, ensuring that every aspect reflects my own vision and emotions.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

If I had to pick one song, it would depend on my mood. For something motivational, I’d go with "Feel Invincible" If I’m in the mood for storytelling, "The Master Is Inside" is the choice. And if I’m looking for something poignant, "Song of Butterflies" stands out. It begins with a delicate melody and a deeply moving and tragic story, then grows stronger both musically and lyrically as the narrative unfolds. The way this song evolves mirrors the emotional journey of its characters, creating a powerful listening experience. Each track offers a unique experience based on what you're feeling.

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is, what is it?

Yes, the message is that despite life's struggles and challenges, we all have the strength within to rise above. It's about perseverance, self-discovery, and realizing that we are stronger than we think. This theme is particularly evident in "Feel Invincible", where the lyrics "Nothing will ever stop me / I'm not afraid of difficulties" encapsulate the album's core message of resilience.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

Absolutely. From "Don't Forget to Live":

"Enjoy your life today, nobody knows how long you will stay / When I'll be there, I will take you away, it's gonna be your turn, for a trip with no return."

These lyrics reflect the importance of living in the moment and not taking life for granted because it can change in an instant. Musically, you cannot resist this song! The melody and rhythm work together to create an irresistible energy that perfectly complements the urgency of the message. It's a call to action set to music - urging listeners to seize the day and make the most of every moment.

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

My music is shaped by a blend of influences, including metal bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Dream Theater, Metallica, and Symphony X, as well as classical music and film scores. Rather than imitating their styles, I draw from their musical concepts and mix them with my own ideas to create something unique. But, honestly, the biggest inspiration comes from life itself—experiences, challenges, and the support of those around me. I’d like to especially thank my wife, who has always believed in me, my children for their patience, and everyone who’s offered encouragement along the way.

This album truly represents what I envisioned for Mystyc Blade, and I'm excited to finally share it with the world. I believe there's something for everyone—whether it's the music, the lyrics, or the emotions each song brings out.
