Interviews: The Dead Flowers Graves

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Doom Metal band The Dead Flowers Graves from Italy. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, did you plan it or did it come out just like that?

We have a deep respect for the dead, their sleep, and their connection with us. We're so fascinated by cemeteries, considering them beautiful peaceful gardens. We like the idea of giving an ancient and romantic sense to death, but it is also sometimes forgotten, like seeing the absence of care in some graves. Does anyone still care for them? But Death is not the end. It changes you in a primordial way of energy. In our lands, the dead are not buried. They are sown so they can be reborn elsewhere. So we have put all this together and in 2017 we formed as a band.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We love everything that could be occult and mysterious. So this genre is perfect to express what we want especially with atmosphere and sounds, then all match together with lyrics.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We have known each other for many years and some of us have shared bands in the past.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

There are different bands we love, but if we have to choose one we can say: for +19.03 Siouxsie and the Banshees / +22.12 Death SS / +13.11 Devil's Blood / +21.10 Beastmaker / +29.11 Sunnata

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

The universe and its forces give us inspiration for the lyrics and words we choose. The synchronicities. The elements. Observing your surroundings is a great form of understanding.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig has been in a strange and mystical place, a town next to us. Strange kinds of energies were playing with us on that stage. It was amazing and terrifying at the same time.

7. Where would you like to act?

We would like to play and act in the cemetery next to your house...

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We would like to play with some bands similar to us. Or maybe not. The important thing for us is that those bands cultivate the same madness as us.

9. Whom not?

We like living the vibration of Death. Death is alive. So we don't want to play with bands that think that Death is nothing or motionless.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Fear is a primitive sense to protect oneself from everything outside, when we walk on stage we feel just the right adrenaline to show us for what we are and give the best of us. When you know you're giving your best you must not be afraid of anyone.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Bands like Death SS, Devil's Blood, and Castle inspired us so much. Other personal influences, such as extreme metal, post-punk, and hardcore, have given us our particular sound and personality.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

The autograph. But we have no names.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are creatures coming from different dimensions, even unknown to us, our music and our concerts are a meeting point. It's like mixing various species together.

14. What do you think of our site?

It is clear and essential. These are important qualities for communicating with people. It conveys commitment and passion for music. We also like the name. Captivating. It sounds really good.

15. Something to add?

We thank you for this interview we're really proud of everything we've experienced through the production of this third EP and we'll be grateful for everything coming for us.
