Interviews: In Chaos

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Heavy Metal/Thrash Metal band In Chaos from Portugal. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that? 

Well we were just looking for something that would sound aggressive, and catchy, we liked it and we kept it. But also we could relate to the chaotic environment around us at that time.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Well, our major influences are from the late 80s early 90s bay thrash metal scene. Bands like Metallica, and Megadeth, these are our heroes in the metal world.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

We didn’t know each other before. Myself (Andre Marinho/singer and bass player) and Jorge Martins, we’re the only members from the original line-up. But the four of us met because of music.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Andre Marinho - Dream Theater

Jorge Martins - Metallica

Pedro Rijo - Tool

André Silva - Rise Against

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

I personally love to play bass and guitar, and when I’m in the mood for writing it comes naturally, playing for hours and recording is one of the most enjoyable things in life for me. So I just sit in front of the computer and write riffs like my life depends on it 😆

6. Where was your last gig? 

Was in Portugal. At a motorbike festival.

7. Where would you like to act?

I think any band dreams of playing their music to the world. I think with our sound, probably the US.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

John Petrucci would be pretty sick. James Hetfield would be a Golden Globe 😆

9. Whom not?

Oh… didn’t see that one coming! Definitely not Anita or something similar. Not our thing.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

All of us I think, all the time. There’s no pill for that. The best tip, practice with your band, for as many hours as you can, cause even though you’re going to shit your pants when the time comes, your fingers will work and all those hours will come through.

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

Metallica, Megadeth, Dream Theater, Sepultura, Pantera, Iron Maiden.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

😂 Sign my tits.

13. What do you think of your fans?

What? All two of them? 😆 No, we love them, and we CAN’T WAIT for them to listen to Hope Wears Black.

14. What do you think of our site?

It’s awesome. We like it.
