Interviews: PIRANHA

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Death Metal/Thrash Metal band PIRANHA from Greece. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, did you plan it or come out just like that?

We took our name from the well-known carnivorous fish, (piranha) because we believe it represents the style of our music... fast, aggressive, and deadly!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We like to play death metal because it's fast and aggressive!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

Υes we are old friends, except Andreas who has been with us for the last 5 years.

4. Each band member's favorite band? 

John (guitars & vocals): Malevolent Creation

Kostas (bass): Death

Dennis (guitars): Possessed

Andreas (drums): Blind Guardian

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

The music & lyrics of our songs is written by John (guitars & vocals). We don't have a specific style, we just write what interests us, eg Nuclear Disease refers to a nuclear war that decimates humanity, Eternal Night is a horror story, Rotten Mind is a journey into the mind of a serial killer, Dead Boat is an epic piece describing a warrior's journey of no return, Haze is a typically Faustian one-man story.

6. Where was your last gig? 

In a club called Temple in our city (Athens)

7. Where would you like to act?

We’d love to play in Wacken Open Air and Hellfest if possible because we think it's a milestone for any metal musician to be part of these two huge festivals.

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

If it were possible, we would like to feature with Arch Enemy and Amon Amarth. 

9. Whom not?

No one comes to mind right now!

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Every time we go on stage, we are nervous, but as soon as the first notes are heard we forget everything. Τhere is nothing you can do about it.  

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

Slayer - Possessed - Exodus – Children of Bottom -Amon Amarth – Behemoth.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

I think it was the time when a fan asked us to play in his apartment.

13. What do you think of your fans? 

They are incredible, they give us the strength to keep going.....we love them.
