Behind The Artworks: Klaiton - Behind The Ritual (2024)
The cover depicts some kind of corrupted, distorted and ruined christ on a
background of corpses, misery, death and destruction. But it could be any other
messiah or “leader” for that matter. The title on the cover relates to a song which is
included on the e.p. as well, but the songs deals more about hypocrisy than it is anti-religious (more about that later).
However, we think there IS a hidden façade behind organized religion. One of
oppression, pain, deception, bloodlust, cruelty, suffering and, yes, hypocrisy.
Of course there’s nothing wrong with a believe-system to allay the fear of dying, a
fear that probably everybody has. But it’s wrong when that belief becomes
oppressive and becomes a way to oppress and sanction others who don’t have the
same belief or creed.
Speaking of things we know, the church caused tremendous pain and suffering
throughout the ages and continues to do so, and they keep forcing their worldview on
others.
That’s what’s behind the façade (or behind the ritual) of religion. It’s portrayed as
being something beneficial, benign and “good”, as being the only truth that matters.
But reality shows us that it’s not, that religion is still a big cause of violence, even
wars, towards others.
