Behind The Scenes: TRISKELYON - Hellbound Hellions (Official Video)

The second video from Shattered Elysium dives deep into the heart of darkness with "Hellbound Hellions." Like most things in the world of underground metal, this was a raw, DIY effort—except for our video editor, Luiz, who works absolute magic with the material we throw at him. The video is a fusion of fierce performance footage and haunting imagery I crafted to fit the song’s theme of vengeful, ghostly legions rising from the grave (raw samples below).

Of course, if we had the luxury of a massive budget, we’d go full throttle with CGI. But even without all the fancy effects, I think we nailed the vibe. The movement and transitions brought to life really make the imagery pulse with that eerie, otherworldly energy.

 

For my part, the shooting conditions were totally metal. I went to a sprawling, overgrown field that looked straight out of a post-apocalyptic scene—perfect for the mood. As it often goes here in St. John’s, the weather wasn’t on my side. After a relentless several-day stretch of rain and drizzle, I finally got a break. The mist cleared just enough to get the guitar shots on a cool, grey evening. By the time I wrapped, it was starting to drizzle again—just in time to save my guitar from getting soaked!

In the end, Luiz was able to stitch all the elements together with his expert touch, transforming a barebones shoot into a metal experience. Check out the final result here:
