It’s Not About You. We wanted to capture a sexy and dancefloor-friendly vibe, with classic synth sounds and Linn drum. Bruce and Adrian provided some cowboy guitar twang that is almost a call and response to the vocals. The lyrics came to me during a difficult period of social upheaval, it talks about the situation where a friendship and a working relationship are at odds with each other. Sometimes despite the success of a project there can be a time when a toxic situation means it is best to walk away even if it means a great sacrifice.
