Interviews About Albums: Decreation - Flesh Eater (2024)

In this new interview, we sat down with the Finish Death Metal band Decreation to ask questions about their album, "Flesh Eater".

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

I can say that we are really happy and satisfied with the end result and how we pushed our boundaries and got the best out of us in the studio. All the feedback we´ve got has been great and supportive.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

At first, it was a joke. There is a guy in the real world (bodybuilder) who is wearing a wife beater shirt with the print "Flesh eater". He is a really nice guy but that outfit is kind of hilarious. But we have also a song called "Human like animal" where a man is torturing multiple humans in his cellar and eating their flesh piece by piece. His name is Flesh Eater and maybe you´ll see his adventures in his near future endeavors.

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

All songs are written by me (Frank) but songs really come alive when the whole band puts their effort into them. It wouldn´t be a Decreation song if it was only me and the guitar.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

That´s a hard one. Recordings of Flesh Eater EP went so well and we got good drive and mood in every song. If I have to pick one song it would be Nothing but Nothing, it has just those different elements and structures that Decreation is all about.

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?

There is no special message. We just like to write about the darkest corners of the human condition and sickening horrors that lurk within the human mind, exploring themes of existential despair, morbid fascination, and the futility of existence. We also criticize the beliefs and insanity of different religions and the way those learnings in a bad way scenario lead people astray.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

Yes. Lyrics from "Nothing but nothing". A person is delusional and goes really deep down in his soul-searching process:

"Behind the eyes of a twisted ape
Deep down,
Under delusional dreams
Empty,
Under the illusion of mind
Nothing,
Where freedom of mind is false
Must go,
Beyond,
The mind,
Inside,
Through the flesh and bone
Skin open, bones broken
Flesh cut open
Where's my soul
Skin open, bones broken
Flesh cut open
Nothing but nothing"

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

Musically there are so many influences, I listen to all types of old-school death metal from all around the globe so I get influences from everywhere.

8. Something to add?

If you like quality old-school death metal listen to our Flesh Eater EP. It can be found on all digital platforms. And of course, thank you for reading this interview.
