Interviews: Dethlores Of Gehenna
On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Doom Metal/Groove Metal band Dethlores Of Gehenna from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, did you plan it or came out just like that?
We sought something that captures the trials and tribulations humanity endures in this prison we call planet hell. We needed tales of the spiritually dead—thus, Dethlores of Gehenna, or stories of the dead wandering the wastelands of hell.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
Metal flows through our veins. In this genre, no topic is off-limits—you can scream, shout, and tell stories of agonizing pain and the triumph of overcoming it so the prisoners may find release. Long live the heart-throbbing, bass-thundering, badass world of metal!
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Yes, we've spent years playing together in both Cryptic Veil and Extermination Order.
4. Each band member's favorite band?
Jeff Layton: Megadeth
Feral Vermin: Triptykon
Tyler Hale: Rammstein
Rick Kalifa: Tool
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
I've endlessly explored the forbidden—religious objections, the theory of everything, consciousness, divinity in hell—and I'm deeply compelled to write about it all. It's more than passion; it's an addiction.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our last gig was in Lawton, Oklahoma.
7. Where would you like to act?
Currently, we have a movie coming out: Leviathan, Possessor of Souls
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
We would love to perform with any of the aforementioned favs but we are thrilled to be featured with any of our fellow metal bands.
9. Whom not?
As long as it's metal, we have no objections.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?
We’re all at ease on stage. The key is to do it repeatedly and picture the audience as your closest friend every time.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Megadeth, Triptykon, Rammstein, Tool, and Marilyn Manson
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
“Can you sign my toe?”
13. What do you think of your fans?
We love our fans to death!!
14. What do you think of our site?
The site is badass, with 0 complaints.
15. Something to add?
Yes, thank you for supporting all the bands! Without people like you, we’d have far fewer opportunities and much less exposure. You’re the ones who keep the metal world spinning!
Let me know if you need anything further. Thanks again!
