Track By Tracks: Dekonstructor - Ominous Game (2024)
The album features certain elements across all songs, featuring aggressive
percussiveness by the drums themselves or in unison with the strings. It is thrash-
influenced featuring double bass, lots of palm-muting riffs, intricate guitar solos,
dynamic bass fills, and vocals ranging from intense to dark while delivering interesting
rhymes. The songs were imagined not to have all the classic thrash high speed tempos,
but instead, have some interesting dynamics with slow songs and alternating speeds.
1. Fate Of The Damned:
It talks about how life can be cruel and gruesome, and
how to deal with the randomness of bad events occurring to someone, trying to
maintain a good face while everything is eating you up inside, and having a
wrong idea that there is nothing you can do about it.
2. All Things Shall Fall:
It discusses bad faith and greed as pillars of modern
society, how people take advantage of others for money or any other benefit,
secretly plotting against one another, but what you reap is what you sow, so be
cool-headed, especially with the ones who wrong you.
3. March To The Pit:
It is about how one unknowingly creates a world of illusions,
full of negative events, thinking this is how life and others treat you, being this a
mirage of one’s own creation where one is imagined as wiser as the ego tells,
and in reality, you are trapped in a prison of self-deceit and life of tragedies
created by one’s inability to see one’s own flaws.
4. Deceive The Deceiver:
Speaks about how we sometimes go through the world
not thinking that there are others actively trying to deceive us, how to
become wiser in identifying such people in life, and how even after some time
practicing and being exposed to such people and situations, eventually you have
to get smarter and be able to see them as they approach, follow their steps
closely and take action.
5. Triple Or Nothing:
It’s about the bets you make in life, how a lot of time the
cards dealt by life provide a gloomy destiny while the game is already set for
others to win, but persistence and stubbornness, even after being all crushed by
bad events, can lead to eventually even winning the game that you were set up to
lose.
6. Descent Into The Mud:
It discusses how you feel powerless about what you did
in life and do not feel content with the person you are versus the person you
were supposed to be, how the present constantly sucks you into a reality you
can’t escape from, and realizing that the world was not a place set up for you to
thrive, accept it, and either drown in despair or do something about it.
7. The Ominous Game:
Talks about how people fall for absurd promises, renounce
rational thinking and blindly give power to someone charismatic to control their
lives, and how fate’s clock is running to meet this person who makes their way in
life by making people follow their dogma and how it will all crumble once the time
comes.
