Behind The Scenes: The Stage Of Dreams - The Killingback Woods (Official Video)
The Stage of Dreams lead vocalist Daniel Butch: What made shooting the Killingback Woods music video truly interesting is the location, we
literally went underground!! Down in a mine. Fortunately, there are roads and electricity in the
repurposed limestone mine. A friend of ours owns a business right across from the unfinished
section that goes on for miles. We only needed to utilize the entrance of the unfinished part, and
we are able to run extension cords across the road to our filming location. We have behind-the-scenes video shorts on our webpage and YouTube channel for anyone who would like to get a
better idea of what I’m talking about here.
Another dynamic part of our video is the tower of skulls. Janelle molded and painted each one
and created this most amazing prop for our Rock Opera show. When the band was discussing
which song to make a video for, I knew right away that KillingBack Woods was the one.
This music video was shot on separate days, one below ground and one in a forest with a
nearby swamp and graveyard. On the above-ground shoot, we had to deal with periodic rain.
For once it was like the Rock-n-Roll Gods smiled upon us and allowed us just enough time to
get the filming done in between downpours.
One more little-known fact is that my son Caden is the one in the video running through the
woods and falling into an earthen grave.
