Behind The Scenes: Streets To Ourselves - Free (Official Video)

I wanted to do a grimy punk rock music video for ‘Free’ because it’s a very political song, so I decided we should shoot the video in the basement of my 110-year-old house. When I was a teenager my first band used to practice in that basement as well, so it's a nod to those formative years of mine as well.

 

I told the band I was going to dye my hair blue for the video, and our drummer Jesse suggested we do red, white, and blue hair, with each member taking one color. This is perfect because ‘Free’ is not only about the Freedom Convoy occupation that took place in Canada a few years ago, but it’s also about the storming of the American Capital Building that took place in Washington, D.C. on January 6th.
