Behind The Tracks: Resilience - Hoy (Single) (2024)

The chilean progpower metal band, Resilience, has just released their new single titled "Hoy," in collaboration with the renowned vocalist Jaime Salva (Tomo Como Rey, Karla Melo, Desvíos), who had previously worked with them on productions such as "Bombas sobre Gaza" and "Valle de la Luna." The song "Hoy" narrates the profound feelings of nostalgia, emptiness, and guilt caused by the absence of a loved one. Marcelo Oyanedel, the band's bassist, shares: "Originally, when writing the lyrics, I drew upon memories of my childhood with my maternal grandmother, recalling our walks on the beach and how she gradually faded after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. My innocence and naivety as a child left me feeling powerless to support her.
