Interviews About Albums: The Bomb Cats - Move On (2024)
In this new interview, we sat down with the American Punk Rock band The Bomb Cats to ask questions about their album, "Move On".
1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?
On this EP, we focused on songs that were shorter and straight to the point. We tried to cut out anything from the songs that was unnecessary.
2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?
The name comes from the first track, “Gotta Move On.” We liked the concept of moving on, of pushing forward no matter how hard it may be.
3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?
All songs are composed by either our bassist, Russ, or me (Christopher).
4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?
Haha, that’s so difficult, because we love them all. But if I had to pick one, I’d pick Gotta Move On. I think it’s the best representation of our band.
5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what is it?
We don’t usually compose with specific messages in mind. If you look at the themes, I think there is a common thread, though. Songs like Gotta Move On and Pay No Mind, capture a sense that, even though things are not always great, you’re not alone. There are many people like you and us, just trying to get by in this world, and we don’t have to do it alone.
6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?
“I’ve had twenty drinks, I got nicotine stink, it’s such a bitch to be alone again,”
I think just about everyone can relate to that feeling!
7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?
Musically, we were inspired by groups like The Undertones and New York Dolls. Our friends and family are always so supportive of our band, and we couldn’t do it without them.
8. Something to add?
We’re very proud of this release. What you hear is authentically us. From the songwriting to the performance, to the production. We’re independent, DIY artists, and we love every minute of it.
