Interviews: Blax

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Hard Rock/Gothic Rock band Blax from Italy. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

The name Blax was spontaneously born while trying to grasp in its meaning between dark and black, intending a “black” soul.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

The most appropriate way to call our music is “Hard Goth” as the gothic influences meet a hard rock-inspired sound. We want to play this genre cause the gothic atmosphere helps to better reproduce the image of what we are telling throughout song, the hard rock gives the right charge to the music.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

Yes, we are all from the same town.

4. Each band member’s favorite band? 

We all love Ghost bands which inspire us, then if we talk about each member's favorite band I’ll add Def Leppard, Megadeth, Blue Öyster Cult, and Kiss.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

Starting from the fact that BLAX band represents a family where every musician is a member of it with a specific role, our songs are meant to tell the stories around BLAX family.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was in a local venue in Latina, our town.

7. Where would you like to act? 

We like so much playing out of our country, cause of the idea of communicating through music to people who speak another language.

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

With Alice Cooper!

9. Whom not? 

I would say any trapper singer cause is the opposite of our genre.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

No, we are all just very excited before starting a concert, you have to enjoy it and have fun.

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

The gothic sound is inspired by artists like Alice Cooper, and then the 80s Hard Rock music is a source of inspiration for our sound.

12. What’s the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Maybe to lying on the ground while rose petals were thrown on my face, it was the recording of our last video “Shady life”.

13. What do you think of your fans?

If they love our music, they can be part of Blax family only listening to it.

14. What do you think of our site?

A site like yours that allows you to share information on new bands is really the top.
