Interviews: Donefor

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band Donefor from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

DONEFOR was a name created by Riley. We wanted something short and easy to remember, the name stuck and we have embraced it since.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We try to bring all the genres we love into metalcore. We have a lot of musical influences and while we do play metal mostly, we feel adding aspects of other genres keeps it fresh.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

The band started as Parker Shogren Music, a solo project for Parker, and then more members started joining as more music was written. It took a half year to get this lineup we have now.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We love getting into the studio and just writing there and seeing what product we come up with. We think of a genre and a theme and go from there.

6. Where was your last gig?

We just played a killer show with Soulfly in our hometown of Fort Myers. 

7. Where would you like to act?

We would love to have a chance to play at any festival out of state!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We just collaborated with Kellin Quinn and that was a dream come true. I guess if we had another chance to get a feature it would be someone like Oli Sykes, he brings a whole new voice to any song he is on.

9. Whom not?

Creed, they are just too good.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

We usually embrace the stage and very few times have we had any type of nerves. It is probably because we just love the stage so much that the comfort is there.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

We really took part in mixing every sound from bands like Breaking Benjamin to emo like Alesana and metalcore from Wage War.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Fans have shown up with many cool things like custom shirts, wooden art, posters, etc. The weirdest always just has to be signing body parts that really shouldn't be signed.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are the reason we do this. We appeal to more than just the metal community. We have a ton of families and youth that love the band and to see how much we inspire people from that is truly amazing.

14. What do you think of our site?

We love how much it supports these growing bands and creates an opportunity for them to share their work.
