Interviews: Donella Drive
On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock band Donella Drive from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?
Aidan: Definitely just came out like that. There’s a street here in San Antonio called Donella Drive. We’d pass the exit on our way to band practice. We just thought it was a catchy name. It’s also vague enough that it could represent any kind of genre, which we liked.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
Aidan: Because we like to rock.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Andrew and I (Aidan) are brothers. So yes, our entire lives.
4. Each band member's favorite band?
Not an easy question to answer. For convenience, let’s just say Metallica.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Living life, delicious food, beautiful women, good art and music, and long hikes.
6. Where was your last gig?
In San Antonio at Vibes Underground opening for Jim Ward of At The Drive-In and Sparta.
7. Where would you like to act?
Anywhere outside of the country sounds cool.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Mike Patton.
9. Whom not?
Donald Trump.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Not really to be honest. It’s normal to get anxious before you perform, but you just have to go out and do it. YOLO.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Air, Megadeth, Boards of Canada, Mars Volta, Primus, Thievery Corporation, Voivod, Stereolab, Run The Jewels, Subtle, Metallica, and pretty much any Mike Patton project.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
My guitar. Pretty bold if you ask me.
13. What do you think of your fans?
I love and appreciate anyone who actively supports this project. It validates my existence.
14. What do you think of our site?
Nice.
15. Something you'd like to add?
Yes, go stream Donella Drive.
