Interviews: One With The Riverbed
On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Atmospheric Black Metal/Post-Metal band One With The Riverbed from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come
out just like that?
Our band name wasn’t something we planned from the start. We were writing and
developing our first release before we had an official name. After discussing it as a
group, we decided that 'One with the Riverbed' best captured the themes and emotions
we wanted to express through our music.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
All of us come from a metal background in one way or another. We didn’t have an in-depth conversation about which genre we wanted to play; it just naturally came together.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Yes. Some of us had played in bands together before this one, or we knew each other
from our local music scene.
4. Each band member's favorite band?
If we answered this directly, each of us would end up listing about 25 bands! Our
influences range from extreme metal to singer-songwriters, so there’s a lot we draw
inspiration from.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Our biggest inspiration comes from working together. We don’t rely on any outside
driving factors to start writing; it’s more about experimenting as a group and pushing
each other creatively.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our most recent performance was in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
7. Where would you like to act?
We hope to eventually perform internationally, beyond the United States.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
At this point, we’re comfortable working just with each other. There’s no urge to bring in
any outside creative forces.
9. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for
beginners on how to beat that?
Generally, no. We’ve all been performing in some capacity for a long time. You just have
to let it rip!
10. What bands have inspired you the most?
Way too many to list.
11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Nothing specific comes to mind. We’re just grateful to anyone who takes the time to
check out our music.
12. What do you think of your fans?
If you've ever listened to our music, we are incredibly grateful.
13. What do you think of our site?
Sites like Breathing the Core are fantastic for showcasing bands of all sizes and helping
us connect with a wider audience. We really appreciate the support!
14. Something to add?
Thank you for having us!
