Behind The Artworks: SVAR - In The Land Called Night (2024)
The idea for the cover was quite simple. I had a general outline in mind: it should depict some kind of landscape, preferably mountainous, at night. The most important element, however, was the color combination—a gold logo and title set against a dark blue background.
This was the idea I presented to the graphic designer I’m working with. She, in turn, suggested that the landscape should be connected to the area around Krakow, specifically the Krakow-Czestochowa Jurassic Upland.
The rock featured in the foreground of the cover, known as the Glove (or White Hand), is located in Ojcow National Park, just 50 kilometers from Krakow.
Since I often visit Ojcow National Park due to its distance to Krakow, this idea immediately resonated with me.
