Human Quilt was conceptualized by my fascination for cults, especially the deadly cults like Jonestown, and that’s exactly where the name came from.

 

When the news investigators saw the compound from helicopters, they thought the 900 dead bodies looked like a human quilt… Pretty fucking grim….

 

My father, who I have zero contact with anymore runs an extremist church/cult in the mountains of Mexico in Jalisco.

 

He explained to me how he put it together through propaganda and films along with other fear tactics to fill the congregation. I found this very disturbing and I cut off all contact with him immediately.

 

So this song was basically written as therapy for me… If I seem to get upset when I’m singing it live, it’s because I am.
