Behind The Tracks: Novacrow - The Krampus, The Krampus (Single) (2024)

Kitty (vocals and guitar): I have wanted to do a "Christmas" song for a good while, but obviously we needed to make it deliciously Novacrow.

This is "The Krampus, The Krampus". It is a glorious revamp of one our favourite existing tracks Medusa Medusa and I'm so happy with how it came out! It just WORKS.

The inspiration definitely came from how CREEPY the lyrics to "Santa Claus is coming to town" truly are when you think about them. The music is jolly, but you cannot tell me that "He sees you when you're sleeping, he knows when you're awake" isn't straight out of a horror film tagline! So many of the lyrics are a spin on that song ("You better not run, you better not hide.) It was originally called "The Man in Red" as a working title, but the Krampus just fit perfectly- both with the rhythm of the song and as a nod to spooky folklore and horror goodness.

We have a video lined up too, which features a beautifully creepy Krampus.

Please listen to it immediately. Make it mandatorfor y Christmas listening for years to come. Refuse to cut the roast unless it is playing. Make this a Christmas tradition. Do it, or Krampus will punish you!
