Interviews: AMETROPIA

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Progressive Death Metal/Black Metal/Doom Metal band AMETROPIA from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

We decided on it pretty early on in the band's inception. We thought it sounded cool and that was that.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Both Eric and Dave are veterans of the genre, they have been involved since the inception of the genre, and Tyler has a sincere passion for the extreme side of metal.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

No. Eric and Dave have played together for a long time, but Tyler was brought in much more recently.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Tyler: Black Sabbath

Eric: Deicide

Dave: Slayer

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We in Ametropia are united by a passion for all kinds of music. It's just what we love.

6. Where was your last gig?

South Carolina, we played at the November Horror Festival with death metal legends Deteriorot.

7. Whom would you like to feature with?

Ice T

8. Whom not?

We are open to collaborations from anybody. Unless you're lame.

9. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

We all have always felt very comfortable on stage. It's our home. It's where we thrive. It's where we can be ourselves and share our art. For those who might suffer from stage fright, all we can say is to just get up there and do it.

10. What bands have inspired you the most?

Metallica, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, etc.

11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

One fan asked me to sign their feet. Longest nails I've ever seen.

12. What do you think of your fans?

Without fans, what's the point? They make everything worth it.

13. What do you think of our site?

It's fantastic! It's a great part of the metal community and does a lot for bands like us.

14. Something to add?

Always worship satin and Marinara.
