Interviews: Harmonize Oracle

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Metal band Harmonize Oracle from Cyprus. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

Our original name, Harmonize, came from our fascination with the word "harmony" and its deeper meanings—balance, unity, and team spirit, which also align with the themes of our music. Over time, as we grew and faced new challenges, we felt the need for a name that reflected our evolution. That’s when we became Harmonize Oracle. It’s still rooted in our original identity but now represents a more profound connection to the concept behind our music. Oracle is a double-meaning word. It both means a message from the gods, such as a prophecy, or the priestess who acts as the medium for said message. Both meanings are very important in our story.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We started as a heavy and thrash metal band, as those were our main influences back then. However, as we wrote more music, our style began to expand beyond those genres. Over time, we’ve added our own unique elements and inspirations, blending various metal styles until we found a sound that truly feels like “us.”

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes! I’ve known all the members personally before they joined the band, and we share strong friendships. Lambros and Harrys joined after we had played on the same stage a few times, and we became close friends for life. Panayiotis and I bonded over metal while serving in the National Guard. Years later, we reconnected, and he joined the band. Fate definitely played a hand in bringing us all together.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

My favorites include Behemoth and Amon Amarth. Panayiotis is a massive fan of Metallica and Motörhead. Lambros has recently been getting into melodic death metal, especially Children of Bodom. Harry’s influences lean towards Death and Dream Theater, which reflect his progressive and extreme style.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Our love for metal and epic storytelling sparked our creativity. From there, a larger vision emerged: a fantasy fiction story that ties all our music together. I began writing the story, and now it’s a collaborative project with Nicolina Papas, someone whose artistic talent I greatly admire. Art in all its forms inspires us, and this shared passion fuels both our story and music.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last show was at the Open The Gates Festival in downtown Nicosia, Cyprus, where we shared the stage with both local and international bands. The positive feedback we received there really motivated us to get back to the studio and record new songs.

7. Where would you like to act?

Our dream is to perform at legendary festivals like Bloodstock, Wacken Open Air, and Hellfest. That said, we also love performing wherever we can. Every show is an opportunity to grow, improve, and connect with the audience.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

It would be an absolute honor to perform alongside the bands that have inspired us, such as Amon Amarth, Iced Earth, Blind Guardian, Iron Maiden, Rhapsody, Behemoth, Metallica, Sonata Arctica, Judas Priest, and Black Label Society. These bands have deeply influenced both our music and our identity as a band.

9. Whom not?

That’s a tough one! Every collaboration teaches us something, so we’re open to working with most bands in the metal world. However, a collaboration with a non-metal artist targeting a pop audience might not align with our current vision.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Stage fright is natural, and we’ve definitely felt those pre-show nerves. But that rush of adrenaline can fuel your performance. The key is to embrace it, channel it into your music, and focus on enjoying the moment. After the first song, it usually turns into pure excitement!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

We draw inspiration from bands like Amon Amarth, Iron Maiden, Rhapsody, Behemoth, Metallica, Sonata Arctica, and Judas Priest. Their music and artistry have left a lasting mark on us.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We haven’t had any super weird fan encounters yet, but it’s always exciting when someone recognizes us! Once, Lambros, our lead guitarist, was recognized by a metalhead on a train in France on his way to Hellfest. That was pretty cool!

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are amazing, and we’re so grateful for their support. They’re part of the Harmonize Oracle family, and their excitement for our music motivates us to keep creating and sharing. Seeing people connect with our work is the ultimate reward.

14. What do you think of our site?

Your site is fantastic! It’s such a valuable platform for musicians to share their work and discover other artists. We’re grateful for the opportunity to be featured and showcase our music to your audience.

15. Something to add?

Our new EP, Before the Oracle, is out now! It’s a tribute to our earlier years and features exciting new tracks, reimagined covers, and remastered selections from our debut album, Warrior In The Night.

You can find our music on all major streaming platforms. If you’d like to support us directly, we have CDs, merch, and bundles available on our Bandcamp page and official store. Check it out and join us on this epic journey!
