Track By Tracks: Sorceress Of Sin - Ennea (2024)
1. Odyl:
The song "Odyl" is a tribute to the ancient Greek goddess Aphrodite. She is a seductive and powerful
figure who embodies love, war, and beauty. She is portrayed as a temptress who can ensnare any
man with her charms.
2. Reina:
The song "Reina" is about the Greek goddess Hera, wife of Zeus and queen of the gods. The song
celebrates her strength and majesty, while also acknowledging her darker side. It was the first track
we released under the Wormholedeath label. Very fast-paced and melodic. I really like the
neoclassical section in the middle section of the song!
3. Poseidon:
Poseidon is about…….. Poseidon of course (laughs), the ancient Greek god of the sea.
The song's overall theme is one of power and destruction, as Poseidon is portrayed as a force of
nature that can be both awe-inspiring and terrifying.
4. The Quest:
This is the first time in the album where we drop the ancient Greek theme and we are trying to write
a story that is a little bit Tolkien-esque.
5. Nymphet:
Back to the ancient Greek theme, this is a song that celebrates the nymphs, mythical deities who
were nature spirits associated with water, forests, and connection to nature.
6. Clarity of Confusion:
This is one of my favorites… if not my favorite track in this album. An 11:40 long (!) song inspired
by bands like Iron Maiden. The song explores themes of power, creation, and the consequences of
human curiosity. The lyrics delve into the story of Pandora's Box, highlighting the concept of
forbidden knowledge and its destructive potential.
7. Trickster:
This song delves into the mythos of Hermes, the messenger of gods. I would describe the
melody during the intro as quite haunting with the verse and being quite aggressive and fast. A slower
chorus and a mid-section that’s as haunting as the intro with Lisa giving a very almost creepy
performance.
8. Destructive Descent:
This one delves into the Greek myth of Persephone and Hades. It explores themes of loss, grief, and
the cyclical nature of life and death. The song focuses on Demeter's anguish and despair after her
daughter's abduction to the underworld. If I’m not mistaken that song was written in the very early
stages of the album.
9. Artisan:
Another track that touches on the story of Pandora's Box, but this time through its creator the Greek
god Hephaestus. It starts very slow almost like a ballad and out of now where… BOOM a massive
heavy guitar riff and double bass kick for good measure! The only track in this whole album that is recorded on a 7-string guitar and the only track that we tried to experiment a bit with the way
we structure a song.
