Band Biographies: Dekta
DEKTA is a metal band from Barcelona, formed in 2015. Their style is characterized by a fusion of 90s heavy metal with melodic passages, alternating between clean and harsh vocals, creating an aggressive and atmospheric dynamic. The band manages to combine powerful guitar riffs with more immersive sections, all backed by a rhythmic foundation marked by a strong and forceful groove.
Their first album, released in 2017, put them on the map of the local metal scene. In 2019, they gained significant recognition after their performance at the XXVII edition of Ripollet Rock, a major festival in the Spanish metal scene, where they shared the stage with renowned international bands like H.E.A.T. and The Unity.
At the end of 2021, DEKTA released their second album, *When Everything Burns*, further solidifying their sound and musical approach. In 2022, they toured several cities across Spain, notably participating in the Can Mercader Festival, where they shared the lineup with well-known bands like Ankor and Siroll!.
At the end of 2024, DEKTA presented their album titled «144», an emotional journey that explores the contemporary dilemmas of modern life, the search for personal freedom, and the internal struggles we all face. Through songs that combine powerful guitars with a strong rhythmic foundation, the band invites its listeners to question the life they lead and the time they truly have to enjoy it. Throughout the different songs, themes such as the oppression of everyday life, emotional fatigue, and the urgency to find meaning and personal space in an increasingly demanding society are addressed. This third album includes ten new tracks showing the different Metal styles from which we feed ourselves.
With this third album, DEKTA reaffirms its proposal and consolidates itself as one of the emerging Spanish bands with the greatest potential.
