Interviews About Albums: Corroding Soul - Corroding Soul (2025)
In this new interview, we sat down with the UK Atmospheric Black Metal band Corroding Soul to ask questions about their album, "Corroding Soul".
1. What can you say about this new CD?
This album is a 4 track journey, about finding hope through the worst situations life can throw at you. The musical style is heavily influenced by atmospheric black metal, with shoegaze and orchestral elements.
2. What is the meaning of the CD name?
It's just the name of the band. "Corroding Soul" was a song title from my previous project, Sorrow Plagues.
3. Which one is the composer of the CD?
David Lovejoy
4. If you have to pick one song, which one would you pick?
I think Sapphire is my favorite, it contains all of the elements that make Corroding Soul what it is. Intense blast beats, pretty melodies, a soulful guitar solo, and a big crescendo at the end of the song.
5. Is there a special message in this CD? If there is what is it?
There isn't a special message so to speak, but I hope that people can find some kind of comfort in tough life situations by listening to it.
6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?
There aren't any particular lyrics that stand out - But the lyrical themes slowly shift throughout the album from, hopelessness and meaninglessness, to a more optimistic viewpoint. They tell a bit of a story.
7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?
My biggest inspirations are my life experiences, philosophy, and opinions about life/world. Musically, I have a very wide range of influences but the band that has had the biggest influence on my sound would have to be Deafheaven.
8. Something to add?
I hope you enjoy the album!
