Interviews: MOMOVUDU
On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Stoner Rock band MOMOVUDU from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, did you plan it or come out just like that?
I wanted the band to have an identity connected to the place we are from. Momo is the Missouri sasquatch. Vudu is his magic.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
I play in this genre because it is my natural habitat. I have always been drawn to heavy music and I've dedicated my career to playing it more than any other style.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
We did not know each other before the band which is what makes it special. It is very hard to find the right chemistry in a band.
4. Each band member's favorite band?
Matt - Impossible question.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Pure creativity is the inspiration itself. I have no idea where songs come from, they just appear as a groove in my fingers and my mind improvises.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our last gig was at Rino's in North Kansas City.
7. Where would you like to act?
We want to gig at Hellfest.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
We would love to tour with The Melvins, Fu Manchu, Wo Fat, or High on Fire.
9. Whom not?
I don't want to tour with destructive people.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?
Not really but I do get an adrenaline rush that I just ride and it helps me in the show. Usually, after the first song it has already transferred energy to the set.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Sabbath, Zep, Duke Ellington, CCR, Hendrix, Sleep.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
To party with his girlfriend.
13. What do you think of your fans?
We love our fans, all of them, and hope 2025 is a stellar year and we get to meet more.
14. What do you think of our site?
Your site is awesome, we appreciate the time and coverage.
15. Something to add?
We are stoked to be a part of Argonauta and working with Gero and Grand Sounds PR. It has been an amazing experience and will allow us to reach a broader audience.
