Interviews: Outburst
On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Thrash Metal/Speed Metal band Outburst from Germany. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, did you plan it, or did it come out just like that?
Philip: In 2019 I started the band and the name came naturally into my mind because I´m
actually a calm guy but when I listen to energetic Thrash Metal I want to thrash something,
so it´s like an outburst of powerful emotions. To break out, to freak out, that´s the base for it
all. That´s the reason for the name
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
Philip: I started making music around 2000 and I always liked faster and rougher songs more
than typical rock songs. When I heard Slayer Reign in Blood the first time, I knew that I wanted
to create that kind of music and enjoy that rush on and off stage.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Philip: I knew the first guitar player Dennis long before the formation of the band. The other
guys were at first bandmembers and then we became very close and good friends.
Nowadays we like a gang every time we meet with stupid jokes and bad manners :D
4. Each band member's favorite band?
Philip: Sodom
Max: Amon Amarth
Nico: Thin Lizzy
Phil: Black Sabbath
Tjorre: Pink Floyd
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Philip: Mostly I´m inspired by the shit that surrounds us. Problems, hatred. Situations with
certain people, personal problems. The ideas for new lyrics never end nowadays.
6. Where was your last gig?
Philip: We played our last gig in a very cool club in Hamburg (Bambi Galore) as a support for
Thrash Metal legend Heathen. It was a lot of fun and very cool!
7. Where would you like to act?
Philip: I would like to tour in different countries. We played only Germany so far. But who
knows? :D
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
On our debut, we feature Nikolay Atanasov (Rezet, Agent Steel). He plays a great solo on our
title track. It has to come naturally and I would like to feature friends and interesting
combinations on tracks rather than "so-called stars“
9. Whom not?
Mmmh…there´s nobody that comes into my mind metalcore please :D
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat
that?
Before a gig, I´m very excited to go on stage, but when I´m on it, everything´s blown away and
I enjoy the ride to the fullest. Tips against stage fright? It´s important to be well prepared to
have everything clear and maybe have one or two drinks if you like, to calm down. When it´s
possible, be early at the location. To have time to check everything. Don´t drink too much
and fuck yourself up
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
I would say Sodom because of their fuck attitude. I have followed them for 20 years
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
No, nothing for the public ear.
13. What do you think of your fans?
Our fans are dedicated maniacs who like to thrash and rumble and are always ready for
some good old friendly violent fun!
14. What do you think of our site?
I like your site! It´s great to keep me informed and to search for new bands in different
genres!
15. Something to add?
Thanks for the interest! Devouring the Masses will be released on March 7th 25 and it will be a
great ride! Thrash til death!
