Interviews: Zayd

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Metal/Rock artist Zayd from Canada. Check out the interview and enjoy it.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or come out just like that?

Zayd is simply my name. In Hebrew, it means “plentiful.” No crazy backstory—just a name that reflects who I am

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Rock and metal have always spoken to me. There's something raw and real about it—it's intense, emotional, and powerful. It’s the perfect way to express struggle, hope, love, and the fight between darkness and light.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I’m a one-man army. Zayd is a solo project—I write, sing, play, and bring my vision to life on my own.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

My favorite bands are Alter Bridge, Breaking Benjamin, Skillet, Linkin Park, and Bullet For My Valentine.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Life’s struggles, my faith, and the battle between light and darkness. I write about fear, self-doubt, pain, and finding hope in the middle of it al

6. Where was your last gig?

I haven’t played a show since 2023. After that, I shifted my focus to writing more and developing my sound. With Deceit and Desecrate now released, I’m currently focused on writing my next EP before getting back to playing live.

7. Where would you like to perform?

One day, I dream of playing at Download Festival and Rock am Ring. Those are the places where rock and metal truly come alive.

8. Whom would you like to perform with?

Alter Bridge, Breaking Benjamin, Skillet, Linkin Park, and Bullet For My Valentine. That would be a dream.

9. Whom not?

I don’t really have a “never” list. As long as the music is real and connects with people, I respect the artistry.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Yeah, I’ve felt it before. The best way to beat it? Rehearse until it becomes second nature. The more prepared you are, the less room there is for fear. Also, remember—it’s not about being perfect. It’s about giving your heart to the performance.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Alter Bridge, Breaking Benjamin, Skillet, Linkin Park, and Bullet For My Valentine.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Someone once asked if they could touch my hair and smell it. That was... unexpected.

13. What do you think of your fans?

My fans—my Unity Tribe—are more than just listeners. They’re family. I make music for them, and they make this journey worth it.

14. What do you think of our site?

Appreciate the support for rock and metal artists! It’s always great to see platforms that push real music forward.

15. Something to add?

My music is more than just sound—it’s about connection, resilience, and finding hope in the midst of struggle. The Unity Tribe is a community built for those who have ever felt lost, broken, or caught between darkness and light. We stand together, knowing that even in our hardest moments, there is hope, there is strength, and we are never truly alone.

If you’ve ever felt the weight of fear, doubt, or struggle, I invite you to be part of something bigger where music speaks, stories unite, and together, we rise. Let’s walk this journey together. Follow me and stay connected:
