Behind The Artworks: Nullor - Finalform (2025)
A common theme through some of these songs has certainly been the state of the
world, the way things are, and the general dilapidation of things like air, water, and livability. I wanted
something big and grand, but also relevant; I’ve never been a big fan of just throwing in some skulls and
blood and mayhem as a starting point just because it’s “metal” to do so. I’ve always loved sci-fi and such,
so I was looking first for a view of the planet, in bad shape and on fire, then added the idea of an
intergalactic horror/entity judging us for how things have arrived at “in bad shape and on fire.” I
commissioned Indonesian artist Bilal Erlangga (@bilalerlangga) from Fiverr.com to try and create it. I
provided some seriously laughable mockups with my terrible MS Paint skills but got enough of the idea
across. A month or so later I got back a first draft that was just a couple minor edits away from what we
went with. We left out the fire though, nobody really knows yet what a planet on fire would look like from
space. But Bilal was amazing, I was lucky to discover. The logo, and the icon (set of brackets with a line
through it) were masterfully done by Mexican Graphic Designer Chuck Cuevas (@aychuck), also on
Fiverr.
