Behind The Tracks: The Abstraction - Jaded (Single) (2025)

The Abstraction is a solo metalcore project hailing from Rotherham, UK. Having already released singles across the past year, such as Son, Standing Tall and Misery, the one-man band has already made moves and turned heads with its unique sound.

The Abstraction is now set to release the debut album ‘The Fear Of Feeling Nothing’ (release date tbc), with the first track, Jaded, featuring Nick Lang UK and Sydney Artez. Moving away from the previous featured vocalist and entirely self produced, Jaded is shaping what the artist is truly about. With crushing, heavy vocals, a soaring chorus, technical guitar sections, a face melting guitar solo and relentless pace all crammed into two and a half minutes, it is a testament of huge things to come, and builds nothing but sheer anticipation for the release of ‘The Fear Of Feeling Nothing.’ Here’s what Will has to say.

‘Jaded felt like the right track to be the pioneering release for the album ahead. It’s about the crushing expectations of life and society nowadays, with the whole world Jaded to everything around them, with no time but to push on and survive. Nick Lang and I have been talking about collaborating for some time, but I wanted to take my time and find the right song, and this was absolutely it. He’s done a phenomenal job and, lyrically and performance wise, he’s absolutely nailed it. It fucking slams! Additionally to that, Sydney Artez and I discussed utilising his absolute genius in just shredding an insane lead line, and it’s such a stand out section in the track. I can’t be more stoked to have been fortunate enough to work with such incredible talent.

After deciding to take on the challenge of a completely independent release, I’ve taken on every part of the project, from writing, performing, programming, recording, mixing, mastering and everything in between, and featuring some incredible artists along the way, this will capture exactly what The Abstraction is all about.’

Jaded will be released on all digital platforms on 21/02/2025.
