Behind The Tracks: In Shallows - Undertaker (Single) (2025)

The overall concept and theme of this song relates to a time that we went through as a band in order to survive. There were some personal experiences that really helped fuel some of the lyrics and outline the emotions we felt at that time in order to keep pushing forward and not let anything hold us back. With this song, we found a new refreshing energy with Matt and Graham's determination. It's a great feeling to have members who are hungry and want to push the band to the fullest potential.

 

The song essentially wrote itself once we were in the same room brainstorming lyrics and ideas to find the direction. Things started clicking when we were able to relate situations to what we were trying to say.

We were very inspired by Wage War and Polaris. Influences from those two bands really show throughout the song, especially within the instrumental.

 

We see this as one of our most important releases to date with the addition of our new members. It's the first time fans will be hearing Matt's voice with the band. The lyrics tell a story with a few easter eggs from previous tracks that we're excited for listeners to hear.

 

Between Matt's melody choices and excellent ear for harmonies and Graham's intensity on the drums, it has made the writing/recording a fun and exciting experience all around.
