Interviews: BLANK

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Hardcore band BLANK from Canada. Check out this interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it, or did it come out just like that?

The name really came organically and randomly after one of our first band jams. We were in the parking lot just talking, and I think Hiro ( drum ) came with it.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We used to do a RATM cover band and me (Mael, guitar) and Bilou (Louis-felix, vocals ) wanted to play our own thing, heavier, crazier, so we started jamming, and Blank did come up quickly after !

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I know Bilou from high school, we met Hiro at the Cégep of Drummondville, and we started our RATM tribute there. So yes, we know each other from before! And Maxandre (bass) just joined the group a couple of months ago, we know him from our friend band "Basterds", where he plays guitar.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

We don’t really have one favorite band, it’s more about our best band is the moment right cause it changes from time to time! But Hiro goes with Gojira, Bilou with Expire, Maxandre with Kublai Khan, and Maël with Drain. But there are so many more good bands that influence us and that we love as equal as them!

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I’d say my brain inspires me 😂 I don't really force myself to write a song, they just came. If I remember them, the day after it meant that it was a good riff, and we kept working on it to make it better as a band. Bilou wrote the lyrics, a couple of his lyrics are about mental health, suicide, being trapped with anxiety, and turning these into really in-your-face lyrics and vocals.

At the Montechristo bar St-Therese Qc

7. Where would you like to act?

We surely wanna do a European tour, we got a lot of messages from there! Definitely wanna play LDB fest in California, all US and Euro hardcore fest. And I dream about opening for Drain and Turnstile one of these days!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Too many of them! Open for Kublai khan and drain, make a feat with the singer of Expire band, and surely play with fucking Biss Ass Truck

9. Whom not?

Don’t think so!

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Bilou: I get stage fright every time I go on stage, my main tip is to rely on setlist notes and the support of your bandmates.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Kinda all the bands we named earlier!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

A tattoo from Bilou of our band logo!

13. What do you think of your fans?

We dont just think it, we fucking thank them and love them. People are so enthusiastic when they see us and talk about us, we can’t thank them enough, they are the reason we can keep going.

14. What do you think of our site?

Looks clean and pro! Discovered it through Indie rage radio promotion, and thanks for reaching out, we really appreciate it 💪💪
