Track By Tracks: Fleur De Feu - Weep (2025)
1. How Shall I Begin My Song?:
This introduction piece is adapted from a poem by Owl woman, a Cheyenne medicine woman who
lived in the 19th century. It marks the beginning of a shamanic journey.
It features Italian musician Jacopo Andreini on yayli tabur.
2. In the Great Night:
This song is also adapted from Owl Woman’s writings. Here she pursues her journey into the night
as a shaman. It features cellist Matthieu Safatly, who recently joined the Fleur de Feu collective.
3. Weep:
Weep is an adaptation of part of a poem by Al-Khansa, one of the most influential poets of the pre-
islamic period (7th century). It is an invitation for us to shed tears if we feel the need to.
4. My Hand:
My Hand is a tribute to our ancestors. It evokes the fact that even on a physical level they continue
to live through us since, for example, Dominique (Fleur de Feu’s founding member) shares a
likeness with her father.
It is also an invitation to make life out of death.
5. Mother:
Dominique expresses gratitude to her parents and to Mother Earth for her existence and her
senses.
6. White Feathers:
White Feathers is the third and last adaptation of a poem by Owl Woman.
It features special guest James De Backer on lap steel guitar.
