Behind The Artworks: Fat Bastard – Barely Dressed (2025)
For the artwork of our releases, we have complete faith in Ger ‘Dutch Courage’
Peters. He’s a well-known graphics designer, especially in the Classic Car & HotRod
community in the Benelux. He did our previous album Junk Yard Fest and hit a home
run! So for Barely Dressed, we gave him a few words and impressions from our
writing process, and in a few weeks, he sent us the artwork. Once again, he knocked
it out of the park! The guy is a legend—he gets us, he gets the music, and he gets
the attitude.
For this release, we gave him just a few terms: Tiger Queen, We are the Killers (two
of the songs on the album), El Camino (a song that didn’t make the final cut), and the
fact that we were creating songs with a Mexicana vibe. The artwork really drips with
the attitude we want to convey with this record!
The only thing in the artwork of Barely Dressed that wasn’t designed by Ger is the
hammer on the inside of the digibox. This hammer is a shout-out to Jan
‘Hammerguy’ Daneels, a good friend of the band and founder of Frietrock festival in
Belgium. On May 8, 2022, Jan decided that life wasn’t all that, and we all still miss
him a lot.
