Behind The Artworks: Wurmian - Immemorial Shrine (2025)
The artwork for the album Immemorial Shrine symbolizes the ancient, almost mystical atmosphere
evoked by the lyrics of the seven songs on the album. The idea was to depict mountains, the oldest
geological testimonies on Earth. These entities represent dormant guardians who have recorded all
the events that have occurred on Earth since its creation. In fact, they are tombs in which the
consciousness of the Earth is preserved. The artist, Silvana Massa, has perfectly integrated the
album's concept and managed to produce this detailed piece, instilling a ghostly, mystical
atmosphere that is perfectly fitting.
The choice of color was not made by default. The color purple was chosen because it perfectly
reflects the mood and the melancholy of the theme. Additionally, it is a deliberate nod to iconic
works such as Brave Murder Day by Katatonia, Clouds by Tiamat, and – in a different style – Welcome
My Last Chapter by Vinterland.
