Interviews About Albums: THE CHRIS ROLLING SQUAD - Damn You All To Hell (2025)

In this new interview, we sat down with the French Rock N' Roll band THE CHRIS ROLLING SQUAD to ask questions about their album "Damn You All To Hell"

1. What can you say about Damn You All to Hell?

Well, it's our 3rd album, it's different than the previous ones, sure there're common points but I like the idea that we had brought something "new" on this one, I'd say it's even more eclectic than ever and way more aggressive, the overall tone is darker and meaner, of course there's funny stuff as well, but in quite a cynical way.

2. What is the meaning of the album name?

Mmmmmm.....the meaning could be many different things, it's open to many interpretations, like the scream of someone who's so much fed up of the world we live in that he's just chuck it all in, or a manner to say we don't care about rules of any kind, we do our stuff, our way, but as I said it's wide open.

3. Which one is the composer of the Damn You All to Hell?

I write all the music and lyrics, but at the roots, it's just tiny songs. I need the two other guys to get it done, so at the end it's a real band effort. I bring tiny lullabies, and their mission is to turn that into big balls of fire.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

This one ain't easy! Ask me tomorrow and you'll get a different answer, today I'd say "Loaded gun", really fun to play live, I wrote this one after a re-re-re-re-re watch Death Wish, a movie I really love!

5. Is there a special message in this album? If there is what it is?

There's no specific message as political stuff or so, we hate that! We're like Snake Plissken, we just try to survive 10 seconds more.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

Not one in particular, all the lyrics are included in the LP, so those who'll buy the vinyl maybe will get our point, or not, maybe they'll think we're this or that, we'll see!

7. Which inspirations have been important for Damn You All to Hell? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

Between the beginning of writing process and the album release many things happened, that pandemic shit, the loss of very important people, and so on, it affected me in many ways and really led the mood on this record, and yes, I'd like to thank Fabien Guilloteau who produced the beast and Gustav Hendberg who made the artwork, but over all, the man who deserves a huge credit is Charlie Claesson, the boss of Cimex Records, he's the one who released our previous one "Cannonball Holocaust" and he still with us on the new one, I call him "punk master" cause he damn is, he's really special to us!

8. Something to add?

Well, thanks a lot for the interview, it's always cool when someone gets interested in our music, let's hope Rock 'N' Roll will live a few more years!!!
