Interviews About Albums: Folwark - All Shadows Stretched (2025)

In this new interview, we sat down with the Italian Experimental Rock band Folwark to ask questions about their album, "All Shadows Stretched".

1. What can you say about "All Shadows Stretched"?

This album is really important for us. We put a lot of energy into fitting all its pieces together. We believe it marks a huge evolution in our sound, and for ourselves as human beings. Synths, vocals and theremin have been added to our power duo setup for an introspective research, at times impetuous, at times thoughtful and with the same qualities we have actually faced all the adversities that the world has presented us in the meantime.

2. What is the meaning of the album name?

All Shadows Stretched is an image that announces the dimming of the light towards obscurity. This occurrence is certainly dangerous, but it can also be a breakthrough for those who seek it.

3. Which one is the composer of "All Shadows Stretched"?

We jam a lot, and we write everything together, and the album is no exception.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

Perhaps Amygdala is the most representative song of the album for its hypnotic tension and its ever-building release drive.

Agartha indeed - the unique instrumental track of the album - certainly has a very special place in our hearts, its writing has been utterly intuitive and emotional, it is one of those songs you cannot really rehearse in a conventional way, it needs to be experienced.

5. Is there a special message in this album? If there is what it is?

We prefer to leave the exploration open to the listener instead of giving our statement. We've put together these songs, which have their own individual identity, but they also participate in the cathartic energy that guided our composition, trying to pave a journey of the soul through rage, pain, and liberation.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

It would be the initial mantra from Oval Night:

all that I break then reborns, changing the way of being,
all that we leave then remains, changing the way of being

7. Which inspirations have been important for "All Shadows Stretched"? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

As far as sound influences, we’d listen a lot to Pontiak, The God Machine, Yob and Heilung. We'd like to thank all the people who supported us in this long period of time, some very close, some far away.

8. Something to add?

We are very much looking forward to this album to come out and it has been a pleasure to answer your questions. Thank you for having us!
