Interviews: Infernal Seer

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Death Metal/Thrash Metal band Infernal Seer from the USA. Check out this interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name?

Was it planned, or did it just happen organically? -The band was called Clairvoyant originally, but as the music and lyrics got heavier, we changed the name to Infernal Seer. The Infernal Seer is an evil soothsayer, and we tell his visions of woe, terror, and destruction. We had no choice but to tell his tale or face a horrific death! No, it came with much thought about what we want to convey with the lyrics and image.

2. Why did you choose to play this genre?

Because we like furious, grim music, and we enjoy the challenge.

3. Did you know each other before forming the band?

Yes, we had been friends and in other bands together previously. We've known each other for around 30 years.

4. What is each band member's favorite band?

One is hard to pick. Mine (Brian Townsand) are Iron Maiden, Morbid Angel, and Death. I know Rudy's is Opeth and Decapitated, and Chris is probably Atheist and Carcass.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I am inspired by horror books and movies. Listening to other bands

6. Where was your last gig?

Southwest Metal Fest in Las Cruces, NM

7. Where would you like to perform in the future?

In Europe, like at bloodstock festival or in the US at Tennessee metal Devastation and Hell's heroes festival.

8. Which artist or band would you like to collaborate with?

A ton of them!

9. Is there anyone you wouldn’t want to collaborate with?

No

10. Have any of you ever experienced stage fright? Do you have any tips for beginners on overcoming it?

I always have stage fright, I think it's good because it means you are passionate and want to perform well. My best advice is to take some time by yourself and warm up on your instrument while breathing slowly and deeply. And don't ever get inebriated before you play, it will diminish your performance.

11. Which bands have influenced you the most?

So many. Maiden, Morbid Angel, Death, Disincarnate, Gorguts, Slayer, Opeth, Carcass, and countless more.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing weird really.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We have very few fans, but loyal fans. They know our song titles and yell them out live, and they know the lyrics. That's very flattering

14. What do you think of our site?

I checked it out and it's really cool! I like the idea of the band tales feature.

15. Is there anything else you’d like to add?

Thanks for the interview.I enjoyed answering the questions. We are filming another music video for our second single and that will be out in May!
